Toyota has increased the prices of its popular models again, giving a setback to buyers. After revising prices of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder
and Hilux recently, the company has now made its affordable SUV, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, more expensive.
According to reports, the price of this SUV has gone up by as much as ₹24,000. Here’s a simple breakdown of what has changed.
Which Variants Became More Expensive?
The biggest price hike is seen in the top variants.
The V 1.0 Turbo-Petrol AT and Dual-Tone versions are now costlier by ₹24,000
The G 1.0 Turbo-Petrol AT variant has become ₹22,000 more expensive
Apart from these, manual variants have also seen a price jump:
V 1.0 Turbo-Petrol MT and Dual-Tone versions are now ₹20,000 costlier
G 1.0 Turbo-Petrol MT also gets a ₹20,000 increase
The good news is that the rest of the variants remain unchanged for now.
New Price Range and Other Updates
After the latest hike, the starting price of the Taisor is ₹7.25 lakh, while the top variant now goes up to ₹12.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
Toyota hasn’t stopped here. The company has also updated prices of other popular models like the Toyota Innova Hycross, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova Crysta, and Toyota Fortuner Legender.
7-Seater Hyryder Coming Soon
Toyota is also preparing to launch a bigger version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
This upcoming model will be a 7-seater SUV, making it more suitable for families. It is expected to arrive during the festive season this year.
Test models seen on the road suggest:
A longer rear section
A stretched side profile
More cabin space
In terms of engine, it will likely use the same setup as the current Hyryder:
1.5L petrol engine with mild-hybrid (103 bhp)
Strong hybrid option with 116 bhp
Possible all-wheel drive option
The expected price range is between ₹16 lakh and ₹24 lakh.
New Fortuner Also on the Way
Toyota is also working on the next-generation Toyota Fortuner, which could launch in India this year.
The new model will come with:
Updated platform similar to the Hilux
New LED tail lamps with a connected light bar
Sharper headlamps and a bigger grille
A more aggressive overall design
This update is likely to make the Fortuner even more premium and feature-rich.
