Skoda is preparing to launch the updated version of its popular midsize sedan, the Slavia facelift, on August 18.
The refreshed model is expected to come with design changes, new features, and possible improvements to its automatic transmission options.
The facelift will continue competing in the midsize sedan segment while bringing updates to keep the model competitive.
Skoda Slavia Facelift Expected Design and Feature Changes
The updated Slavia has already been spotted during testing, revealing several possible design changes.
The facelift model is expected to get:
Updated LED headlamps.
A redesigned grille with integrated lighting, similar to the latest Kushaq and Kodiaq models.
New front and rear bumpers.
Fresh alloy wheel designs.
Updated tail-lamp styling.
Inside the cabin, the overall dashboard layout is expected to remain similar to the current model.
However, Skoda may introduce some new features, including a larger 10.25-inch digital driver display, refreshed seat upholstery, and front parking sensors.
There is also speculation that Skoda could introduce the rear-seat massage function in the Slavia, a feature that was recently added to the Kushaq facelift.
Existing Features and Engine Options
Most of the current features are expected to continue in the facelift version.
These may include:
10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Single-pane sunroof.
Wireless phone charger.
8-speaker audio system.
Automatic climate control with rear AC vents.
Six airbags.
Tyre pressure monitoring system.
On the engine front, the Slavia facelift is likely to continue with the existing petrol engine options.
The expected engine lineup includes:
1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine: Producing 115hp.
1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine: Producing 150hp.
However, the smaller 1.0-litre TSI engine may receive a major transmission upgrade.
The current 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox could be replaced with a newer 8-speed automatic transmission, which was first introduced with the Kushaq facelift.
The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine is expected to continue with the existing 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
