Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has removed two motorcycles from its portfolio — the CB650R and CBR650R. The company had launched the updated versions of both bikes in India in early 2025.
Both motorcycles were powered by a 650cc inline-4 engine. However, sales of both models had been hovering around very low numbers for several months, leaving the company with no option but to discontinue them.
Launched Again in 2025, Now Removed
Honda had relaunched both 650cc models in January 2025. After that, the company also introduced several bigger motorcycles in India, including the CBR1000RR-R SP, Rebel 500, X-ADV, CB750 Hornet, and CB1000 Hornet SP.
Among these, the CBR1000RR-R SP and Rebel 500 were discontinued soon after launch. This was likely because only a limited number of units were allotted for India. In addition, these bikes were also not getting enough buyers.
Now, it seems that the same situation has happened with the CB650R, CBR650R, and the X-ADV as well. Honda has sold all the units that were allotted for India.
Part of Honda’s Usual Strategy
This follows Honda’s usual strategy for its high-capacity motorcycles. The company generally brings only a limited number of units to India for its premium bikes. Once all the allotted units are sold, bookings are stopped and the models are removed from the company’s official website.
However, this does not necessarily mean that these bikes are permanently discontinued.
There is still a possibility that both 650cc models may return in the next allotment cycle, which could happen later this year or in early 2027. As of now, the company has not announced any confirmed date.
Prices of These Premium Bikes
The CB650R with e-clutch had a final ex-showroom price of ₹9.60 lakh.
Its faired version, the CBR650R with e-clutch, was priced at ₹10.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
The X-ADV had a final ex-showroom price of ₹11.90 lakh.
Overall, these motorcycles were positioned as premium products, which naturally limited their buyer base.
