There is good news for millions of employees across India.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is introducing a new and simple way for subscribers to access their PF-related information.
Soon, members will be able to check their PF updates directly on WhatsApp without visiting the EPFO office or logging into complicated online portals.
This move is aimed at making services faster, easier, and more accessible for users across the country.
How EPFO WhatsApp Service Will Work
EPFO’s new WhatsApp service will be very simple to use. Subscribers will just need to send a “Hello” message to the official verified EPFO WhatsApp number (marked with a green tick).
Once the message is sent, the chat will begin automatically, and users will be able to access PF-related information and updates.
According to Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the decision was taken because a large number of people in India already use WhatsApp daily, making it the most convenient platform for such services.
Some key highlights of the service include:
PF status and updates via WhatsApp
Messages sent directly to registered mobile numbers
Support in regional languages for easier communication
This will help users get information in a simple and familiar way.
Initial Focus on Quick Issue Resolution
In the first phase, the WhatsApp service will mainly help members under the PMVBRY scheme.
It will focus on resolving common problems such as:
Aadhaar verification failures using UIDAI face authentication
Issues with Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) activation in bank accounts
These problems often delay benefits, and EPFO aims to solve them quickly through WhatsApp support.
EPFO Launches Mission Mode for Faster Case Resolution
Along with the WhatsApp service, EPFO is also working on clearing pending legal and administrative cases faster.
A special mission-mode campaign has been launched to resolve long-pending disputes across different legal forums.
The organisation is also running a campaign called “Nidhi Aapke Paas” to help settle cases related to delayed PF interest payments by companies.
Zone-wise officers have been assigned to coordinate with tribunals and stakeholders to speed up the process.
A Step Towards Digital Convenience
Many banks in India already offer services like balance checks and statement downloads through WhatsApp.
Now, EPFO is also moving in the same direction to make PF services more accessible and user-friendly.
With this step, crores of EPFO members across the country are expected to benefit from faster communication and easier access to their provident fund details.
