The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has opened a new business opportunity at the Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat Station in Delhi.
To improve passenger facilities and develop the station into a modern commercial hub, NCRTC has issued a tender for commercial spaces on the station’s ground floor.
People interested in starting shops, cafes, service centres, or retail businesses can now apply.
The last date to submit bids is June 17, 2026.
Commercial Spaces Available Inside the Station
Under this tender, NCRTC is offering around 818 square meters (nearly 8,800 square feet) of commercial space at eight different locations inside the station.
The spaces include both:
Bare units without construction
Ready built-up commercial units
The size of these spaces ranges from small 17 sq. meter units to larger areas of up to 247 sq. meters.
These spaces will be given on a license basis for a period of 9 to 15 years.
What Type of Businesses Can Open Here?
NCRTC plans to make the station more convenient for passengers by adding useful daily services and shopping options.
Businesses that can operate from these spaces include:
Food and beverage outlets
Cafes
Convenience stores
Service centres
Pod services
Retail shops
The aim is to create a passenger-friendly environment where travelers can access essential services easily while commuting.
Why Sarai Kale Khan Station Is Important
Sarai Kale Khan is one of the biggest stations on the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor.
The station is rapidly becoming a major multi-modal transport hub because it is connected to:
Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station
Veer Hakikat Rai ISBT
Delhi Metro Pink Line
Ring Road
Recently, NCRTC also started a 280-meter-long covered foot overbridge with travelators.
This bridge gives passengers direct connectivity to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and makes travel smoother and more comfortable.
Strong Business Potential for Shop Owners
Due to its central Delhi location and heavy expected passenger traffic, Sarai Kale Khan station is being seen as a high-potential commercial destination.
The station’s strong connectivity and visibility make it attractive for retailers and businesses looking to reach a large number of daily commuters.
NCRTC also wants to promote transit-oriented development (TOD), which means developing commercial and mixed-use spaces around transport hubs.
Officials believe this move will:
Improve passenger convenience
Create employment opportunities
Increase non-fare revenue
Support local businesses and retailers
