A major change is coming from April 1 that can directly affect how you use your PAN card. If you have not checked your PAN and Aadhaar details carefully, this is a warning for you.
The government has made it clear that if the name on your PAN card and Aadhaar card does not match, your PAN may become inoperative.
This means that even if you have a PAN card, you will not be able to use it for banking, filing Income Tax Returns (ITR), or any financial work.
Matching Names is Now Necessary
Many people believe that just linking PAN and Aadhaar is enough. However, now it is equally important that the names on both documents match exactly.
Even a small spelling mistake can create serious problems. So, you should fix this issue before April 1 to avoid trouble later. The good part is that you can correct this mistake from home in just a few minutes.
What is the Rule About PAN-Aadhaar Linking?
The government made it compulsory to link PAN and Aadhaar to bring more transparency to the financial system.
But now, linking alone is not enough. If the names on both documents are different, the system will not accept them as valid. In such cases, your PAN can be declared inoperative, which means it will be temporarily disabled.
What Will Change After April 1?
If you do not correct the name mismatch before April 1, you may face many problems:
Your PAN card will not be usable
You will not be able to file your ITR
Banking transactions may become difficult
Work related to loans, credit cards, and investments may get affected
In short, many important financial activities may stop if your PAN becomes inactive.
