Western Railway has introduced a new crowd-management system at Nalasopara railway station.

The move aims to reduce chaos during rush hours and make boarding safer for daily commuters.

Nalasopara station often sees heavy crowds during peak timings.

This usually leads to pushing, arguments, and confusion on platforms.

To solve this problem, railway officials have started a queue system on a trial basis.

The system has been active on Platform No. 1 since February 18.

Under the new rule, passengers must stand in two separate queues while waiting to board local trains.

They must also allow all commuters to exit the train before entering the coach.

To ensure smooth implementation, 22 security personnel have been deployed.

This includes staff from the Railway Protection Force and the Maharashtra Security Force.

Special Markings to Guide Passengers

To make things clearer, special markings have been painted on the platform.

Green markings show where passengers should stand in line to board the train.

Yellow markings indicate space for those getting off.

In some areas, ‘Q’ patterns have also been drawn to guide movement and reduce confusion.

Officials believe this simple system will improve safety and control crowd flow, especially when trains arrive fully packed during peak hours.

More AC and Non-AC Trains Added

Along with better crowd management, Western Railway has also increased train services.

From February 19, twelve additional AC local services have been introduced.

Out of these, eleven replace existing non-AC services, and one is a completely new AC train.

Three new non-AC services have also been added.

With these changes, the total number of AC services has increased from 121 to 133.

Overall local train services on the network have gone up from 1,410 to 1,414.

Weekend services have also improved.

AC train services during weekends have increased from 77 to 106.

In another change, a slow local that earlier ran from Bhayandar to Bandra will now start from Virar, improving connectivity for commuters.

These steps aim to make daily travel smoother, safer, and more comfortable for thousands of passengers using the Western Railway network.
