People living in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad may soon get a faster and more convenient travel option.
Direct commercial flights between Chandigarh and Noida International Airport at Jewar are expected to begin from July 1.
The new route is likely to reduce travel time for thousands of passengers who currently depend on Delhi airport for air travel.
IndiGo will operate two direct flights daily on this route.
Big Relief for Noida and Ghaziabad Travellers
At present, passengers travelling to Noida, Greater Noida or Ghaziabad through Delhi airport often spend several extra hours on the road due to traffic congestion.
The new direct flights to Jewar Airport are expected to solve a major part of this problem.
Instead of landing in Delhi and then travelling long distances by taxi or cab, passengers will now be able to reach western Uttar Pradesh much more easily.
The new route is also expected to reduce pressure on Delhi’s already crowded airport system.

Why This Route Is Important
The Chandigarh-Jewar route is expected to benefit:
Business travellers
Daily commuters
Tourists
Professionals travelling between NCR and northern states
The flights could also improve business connectivity between western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
Faster travel may help professionals and entrepreneurs move more efficiently between these regions for work and meetings.
Jewar Airport’s Growing Importance
The launch of direct flights is also a major step in expanding operations at Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport.
The airport is being developed as a large aviation hub for the National Capital Region (NCR) and as an alternative to Delhi airport.
Officials believe the airport will help manage rising passenger traffic in the coming years while improving connectivity for people living outside central Delhi.
As more commercial routes begin operations, aviation activity at Jewar is expected to grow rapidly.
The Chandigarh route could become one of the first major examples of how the new airport changes travel for people living in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
