Students from OBC, EBC, and DNT categories can now apply for the PM Yashasvi Top Class Education in College Scholarship Scheme for the 2026-27 academic year.
The Central Government has started the online application process through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Eligible students can submit their applications until August 31, 2026. The scholarship aims to help deserving students from economically weaker families continue their higher education without financial stress.

According to District Backward Classes Welfare Officer Lavesh Kumar Sisodia, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has allotted scholarship seats for various educational institutions across the country.

Application Start Date: June 1, 2026
Last Date to Apply: August 31, 2026
Institute Verification: September 15, 2026
Final Ministry Verification: November 30, 2026
Students are advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or document-related problems.
Scholarship Benefits Under PM Yashasvi Scheme
The PM Yashasvi Scheme offers financial support under four different categories.
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship
₹4,000 per year
2. Post-Matric Scholarship
Group 1 (Professional Degree & PG Courses): ₹20,000
Group 2 (Other Professional Degree/Diploma/Certificate Courses): ₹13,000
Group 3 (General Graduation & Post-Graduation Courses): ₹8,000
Group 4 (Non-degree Courses After Class 10): ₹5,000
3. Top Class School Education
Classes 9-10: ₹75,000
Classes 11-12: ₹1.25 lakh
4. Top Class College Education
Tuition fee up to ₹2 lakh for private institutions
Up to ₹3.72 lakh for pilot training
₹3,000 per month for food and accommodation
₹5,000 for books and stationery
Laptop/computer and accessories worth ₹45,000
How to Apply for PM Yashasvi Scholarship
Applying for the scholarship is simple. Follow these steps:
Step 1
Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Click on New Registration.
Read the instructions carefully and complete the registration.
After registration, you will receive your User ID and Password.
Step 2
Log in using your User ID and Password.
Select the PM Yashasvi scholarship.
Fill in the application form.
Upload the required documents and submit the application.
Your educational institution will verify the application online, followed by verification by the state government.
