The Telangana government has launched the Indiramma Indlu Housing Scheme to help poor and middle-class families own an affordable home.
The scheme covers Hyderabad and the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area, which includes urban locations within the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The scheme was launched by State Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy along with other ministers at the State Secretariat.

1 Lakh Affordable Flats to Be Built
The Telangana government plans to build 1 lakh affordable flats in phases across GHMC, Cyberabad, and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation areas.
In the first phase, the Telangana Housing Board will construct 7,680 Low Income Group (LIG) flats across 16 assembly constituencies. Later, the project will expand to 26 constituencies.
Each flat will have a built-up area of 528 sq. ft. with a 400 sq. ft. carpet area.
Flat Price and Government Subsidy
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive a ₹5 lakh government subsidy.
After the subsidy, beneficiaries will need to pay only ₹6 lakh for the flat. The government is also providing land free of cost, helping reduce the overall housing price.
The government says the initiative aims to make Telangana a slum-free state by providing affordable homes to deserving families.
How to Apply
Applications will be accepted from July 23 to August 10.
Eligible applicants can apply through:
MeeSeva Centres
The application fee is ₹100.
Applicants must also pay a refundable Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000. If a flat is allotted, the amount will be adjusted in the final payment. If not, the EMD will be refunded.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
Must have lived in the CURE area for at least 10 years.
Should not own any house, flat, or plot within the ORR limits.
Annual family income must be up to ₹6 lakh.
Only one application per household is allowed.
If the number of applications is higher than the available flats, allotment will be done through a transparent lottery after document verification and a 360-degree background check.
Important Rules for Beneficiaries
Beneficiaries cannot sell or rent out the flat for 10 years after allotment.
However, they will be allowed to mortgage the property with a bank to obtain a home loan.
Payment Schedule
Beneficiaries will make payments in stages:
At the time of application: ₹100 application fee + ₹10,000 EMD
After provisional allotment: ₹1 lakh
After RCC structure is completed: ₹2 lakh
During finishing work: ₹2 lakh
Before possession: Remaining balance amount
Reservation Benefits
The scheme also includes reservation benefits.
50% of the flats are reserved for SC, ST, BC, persons with disabilities, sanitation workers, outsourcing employees, and Class IV employees.
30% of the flats in every category will be reserved for women.
Areas Covered in the First Phase
The first phase will cover 16 assembly constituencies, with 480 flats allotted in each area.
Some of the major locations include Rajendranagar, Maheshwaram, Serilingampally, Ibrahimpatnam, Malkajgiri, Karwan, Bahadurpura, Amberpet, Kukatpally, Medchal, Quthbullapur, Sanathnagar, Secunderabad Cantonment, Malakpet, Nampally, and Khairatabad.
In Nampally, 480 flats will be built, including 360 flats near the HMWSSB office at Red Hills and 120 flats near Niloufer Hospital.
In Khairatabad, 120 flats will be built at Hakimpet Dargah, while 360 flats will come up near MLA Colony in Jubilee Hills.
