In cities like Delhi-NCR, app-based cabs from Ola and Uber have become a daily necessity.

But along with convenience, passengers often complain about surge pricing, ride cancellations, and driver behaviour.

Drivers, on the other hand, have raised concerns about low earnings and high commissions.

Now, a new Indian ride-booking app is preparing to enter the market with a bold promise.

NemBharat: A New Desi Challenger

World Economic Mobility Limited (WEML) is launching a new app called NemBharat.

What makes it different?

The company claims it will charge zero commission from drivers and offer no surge pricing for passengers.

This means drivers can keep 100 percent of their earnings.

At the same time, passengers will pay a fixed fare — no sudden price jumps during peak hours or bad weather.

The service will operate on a prepaid, cashless model and will be run by the Narayanhiti Trust.

Why Is This Launch Important Now?

The timing is significant.

India’s transport sector has recently seen driver strikes, complaints about falling incomes, and growing dissatisfaction among passengers over unpredictable fares.

NemBharat aims to address both sides of the problem.

According to Deepak K. Shah, Director and CEO of WEML, the platform is being designed as a “National Transport Network.”

The goal is to bring transparency to driver earnings and clarity to passenger expenses.

In simple terms, no hidden charges and no confusion.

Can It Really Challenge Ola and Uber?

Competing with established giants like Ola and Uber will not be easy.

They already have a strong presence, a large customer base, and deep financial backing.

However, if NemBharat delivers on its promises of zero commission and fixed pricing, it could attract both drivers looking for better income and passengers tired of unpredictable fares.

Whether this new Indian app can truly disrupt the market remains to be seen.

But one thing is clear — the competition in India’s ride-hailing space is about to get more interesting.
