If you need to deposit cash, clear a cheque, get a demand draft issued, or visit a bank branch for any important work, it is a good idea to plan ahead.

Banks in several states may remain closed for three consecutive days this weekend due to Muharram, the fourth Saturday, and Sunday holidays.

Banks Open Till June 25

Customers can continue to use bank branches normally from June 22 to June 25. Both public and private sector banks will operate as usual during these days, allowing people to complete their banking tasks without any disruption.

However, after June 25, holiday-related closures will begin in some parts of the country.

Three-Day Bank Closure in Some States

According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks in many states will remain closed on June 26 because of Muharram. Since this is a regional holiday, the closure will not apply across the entire country.

Customers should check the holiday schedule for their city before visiting a branch.

June 27 is the fourth Saturday of the month, when banks across India remain closed. This will be followed by the regular weekly holiday on June 28, which falls on a Sunday.

As a result, states observing the Muharram holiday on June 26 could see bank branches remain shut for three consecutive days.

Bank Holidays in July

Several state-specific festivals will lead to bank closures in different parts of the country during July.

July 6: Banks closed in Aizawl for MHIP Day

July 9: Holiday in Shillong

July 16: Banks closed in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, and Imphal due to local festivals such as Rath Yatra, Kang, and Harela

July 17: Holiday in Shillong

July 22: Banks closed in Agartala for Kharchi Puja

Apart from these regional holidays, banks will also remain closed on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

Online Banking Services Will Continue

Even when bank branches are closed, digital banking services will continue without interruption.

Customers can use internet banking, mobile banking, UPI services, and ATMs as usual.

Payments and money transfers through apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm will remain available. ATM cash withdrawals and other basic banking services will also continue normally.
