IndiGo passengers faced another technology-related problem this week as the airline’s website and online services stopped working normally.
The latest disruption came just two days after IndiGo reported problems with its core reservation system.
This makes it the airline’s second major technical issue in the same week.
Passengers trying to book flights on Friday reported errors on the IndiGo website, with the page showing a “No Data Available” message.
IndiGo Flight Booking Service Disrupted
Several passengers said they were unable to book tickets through IndiGo’s website.
Reuters journalists in at least three cities also reportedly could not complete flight bookings on the airline’s website.
Some users also said they were unable to log in to the IndiGo mobile app, adding to the inconvenience for travellers trying to manage their bookings.
The disruption came at a time when passengers rely heavily on online services for booking and managing flights.
Web Check-In and Payments Also Affected
The problem was not limited to new flight bookings.
Passengers also reported difficulties with web check-in, online services and payment confirmations.
Some users took to social media to complain about failed bookings and other problems while trying to use IndiGo’s digital platforms.
This can create additional stress for travellers, particularly those who need to complete web check-in before reaching the airport.
IndiGo Had Reported Another Technical Issue Earlier
The latest website disruption follows another technical problem reported by IndiGo on Wednesday.
At that time, the airline said its core reservation system was facing intermittent issues and that it was working with its technology partner to resolve the problem.
The reservation system is a critical part of airline operations because it handles functions such as flight bookings and passenger information.
IndiGo Has a Major Share of India’s Domestic Market
IndiGo is India’s largest airline and has a dominant position in the country’s domestic aviation sector.
The airline accounted for around 67% of India’s domestic aviation market in July, according to the information provided.
Because of its large passenger base, even a temporary technical problem can affect a significant number of travellers.
The airline also faced a much larger disruption in December last year, when around 4,500 flights were cancelled, causing widespread problems for passengers across India.
What Should IndiGo Passengers Do?
Passengers who are unable to access the IndiGo website or app should check their flight status through alternative channels.
Travellers should also keep extra time in hand for airport formalities, particularly if they have not been able to complete web check-in or access their booking online.
With the airline facing repeated technical issues this week, passengers are advised to check their flight details before leaving for the airport and keep the necessary booking information readily available.
