POCO M8x 5G Launch has taken place in India, with the smartphone offering a large 7900mAh battery, Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, and Android 16-based HyperOS 3.
The company says it is the first smartphone in India to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform.
The smartphone is aimed at users who want long battery life along with a large display, 5G connectivity, and AI-powered features.
POCO M8x 5G Launch brings a 7900mAh battery
The POCO M8x 5G comes with a 7900mAh battery designed for extended everyday use. It supports 45W fast charging, and the company includes a 45W charger in the retail box.
The device also supports 22.5W reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible smartphones and accessories when required.
Large display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset
The smartphone features a 6.9-inch display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The screen is certified for Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly viewing by TÜV, while Corning Gorilla Glass 7i provides protection.
Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm process for improved performance and power efficiency.
The device is available with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.
50MP camera and Android 16 features
For photography, the phone includes a 50MP AI dual rear camera with a dedicated flicker sensor.
Camera features include Portrait Mode and Dual Video, which allows recording from both the front and rear cameras at the same time.
An 8MP front camera is available for selfies and video calls.
The POCO M8x 5G Launch also brings Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The software includes support for Google’s AI features such as Gemini and Circle Search.
The phone also supports Xiaomi Interconnectivity for easier connectivity with compatible Xiaomi devices.
Apart from this, the smartphone comes with an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
It also features dual speakers with the company claiming up to 300 percent volume output, along with a leather-inspired rear panel finish.
Price and sale date
The POCO M8x 5G has been introduced in two variants in India. The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at ₹20,999, while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs ₹22,999.
As part of the launch offer, buyers purchasing the phone on the first sale day will receive a ₹2,000 coupon, reducing the effective prices to ₹18,999 and ₹20,999, respectively.
The smartphone will be available for purchase on Flipkart from August 27, 2026, starting at 12 noon.
