BSNL Rs 225 Recharge Plan has received an important update for prepaid users in India. The company has not increased the plan’s price, but it has reduced the validity from 30 days to 28 days.
This means customers will now get two fewer days of service for the same ₹225 recharge.
The benefits of the plan remain unchanged, including daily data, unlimited calling and SMS. However, the reduced validity makes the plan slightly costlier on a per-day basis.
BSNL Rs 225 Recharge Plan gets shorter validity
Earlier, the ₹225 prepaid plan offered 30 days of service validity. After the latest revision, customers will now receive only 28 days of validity while the recharge price remains the same.
For users who recharge this plan regularly, the change means they may need to recharge sooner than before over the course of a year.
Daily recharge cost has increased
With the earlier 30-day validity, the effective daily cost of the plan was around ₹7.50.
Now, after the validity has been reduced to 28 days, the daily cost increases to about ₹8.04. Although the difference is only around 54 paise per day, frequent users will notice the higher yearly recharge cost.
Benefits remain unchanged
The BSNL Rs 225 Recharge Plan continues to offer 2.5GB of high-speed data every day.
Once the daily data limit is exhausted, internet speed is reduced to 40 Kbps. The recharge also includes unlimited local and STD voice calling along with 100 SMS per day.
The plan does not include subscriptions to OTT streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar or other services.
Plan launched in 2025
BSNL introduced the ₹225 prepaid plan in September 2025 with 30 days of validity. It offered 2.5GB daily data, unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS per day.
While those benefits remain the same, the latest validity reduction means customers now receive fewer service days without any change in the recharge price.
