Bank Charges Revised for several banking services, with customers of Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank facing changes in selected fees. The revisions cover services such as debit card transactions, cash withdrawals and IMPS transfers, depending on the bank and account type.

The changes are important for customers who frequently use these services because even small transaction fees can add to their banking costs over time.

Bank Charges Revised for Axis, Kotak and IndusInd

Axis Bank has revised charges linked to certain debit card services. One of the notable changes is the increase in the dynamic currency conversion markup on debit card transactions from 1.5% to 3.5%, effective August 28, 2026.

This charge is relevant when customers use their Axis debit card for transactions where dynamic currency conversion is applicable. Customers travelling abroad or making foreign-currency transactions should therefore check the applicable charges before using their card.

Kotak Mahindra Bank also applies a cross-currency markup of 3.5% on foreign-currency transactions made through debit cards, according to its current fee information.

IndusInd Bank changes IMPS charges

IndusInd Bank has revised its savings account and debit card charges with effect from August 1, 2026. The revised schedule includes charges for IMPS transactions that were earlier listed as nil.

Under the revised structure, IMPS transfers up to ₹10,000 attract a ₹2.50 charge per transaction. Transfers above ₹10,000 and up to ₹1 lakh attract ₹5 per transaction, while transfers above ₹1 lakh attract ₹10 per transaction.

The revised charges mean customers making frequent IMPS transfers should pay attention to the transaction amount and applicable fee before sending money.

What customers should check

The impact of these changes depends on the type of account, card and transaction being used. Not every customer will face every revised charge, so customers should check the applicable schedule for their specific banking product.

For international transactions, customers should also understand whether the transaction involves currency conversion or dynamic currency conversion, as the applicable markup can affect the final amount charged.

Bank Charges Revised: What to do now

Customers of Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank should review the latest fee schedules before making transactions that attract service charges. This is particularly important for frequent IMPS users and customers using debit cards internationally.

The revisions do not mean that every banking service has become more expensive. The changes apply to specific services and products, and the exact charge depends on the bank’s applicable terms.

Bank Charges Revised across these services are therefore worth checking before customers make their next transfer, cash-related transaction or foreign-currency card payment.
