Tecno has launched the new Pova 8 Pro 5G in India. The smartphone joins the company’s Pova 8 series and arrives just a few months after the launch of the standard Pova 8.
It comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset, a 6,500mAh battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and a 50MP main camera.

Price, Sale Date and Color Options
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G starts at ₹49,999 in India. Buyers can also get an instant cashback of ₹3,000 on select credit cards, debit cards, and UPI payments.
The smartphone will go on sale on Flipkart from August 21. It is available in three color options:

Graphite Black
Tundra Green
Display, Performance and Software
The phone features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a resolution of 1208 x 2644 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate.
It also offers up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, 1.07 billion colors, and a 93.18% screen-to-body ratio. Tecno says the phone comes with an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance.
The Pova 8 Pro 5G runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Tecno has promised two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor, built on a 4nm process. It also includes a Tecno P1 graphics chip, an ARM Mali-G615 MC2 GPU,
and a vapor chamber cooling system with a 5,000 sq mm heat dissipation area to keep temperatures under control during gaming and heavy use.
Camera, Battery and Other Features
On the back, the smartphone has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary camera featuring optical image stabilization (OIS)
and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, it comes with a 13MP front camera.
One of the highlights is the Alive Matrix Display on the rear panel. It uses 177 mini LEDs that create lighting effects for more than 49 different scenarios.
The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
For connectivity, it supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and USB Type-C.
It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and sensors such as an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, e-compass, and gyroscope.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G measures 162.48 x 77.27 x 7.39mm and weighs around 189 grams.
