Saudi Umrah Visa Rules have changed for pilgrims using the new one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa. Although the visa remains valid for 365 days and allows multiple visits, travellers must complete additional requirements before every new Umrah trip.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has clarified that having a valid multiple-entry visa alone does not automatically allow pilgrims to make another Umrah journey. A new approved service package and an Umrah permit are required for each trip.
Saudi Umrah Visa Rules for Multiple Trips
The one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa was launched in July 2026. It is valid for 365 days from the date of issue and allows eligible pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia more than once during that period.
However, the one-year validity does not mean that pilgrims can stay in Saudi Arabia continuously for 365 days. The total stay across all visits is limited to 90 days during the visa’s validity period.
This means a pilgrim planning a second or third Umrah visit must make fresh arrangements before travelling again, even if the original visa is still valid.
New Service Package Needed Before Every Trip
Under the updated rules, pilgrims must book an approved Umrah service package through the Nusuk platform before each journey. The package must be obtained from a licensed Umrah service provider and cover the relevant travel dates.
The package period cannot extend beyond the remaining validity of the multiple-entry visa. Therefore, travellers need to check their visa validity before making arrangements for another visit.
A previously booked package does not automatically cover future trips. A new package is required whenever the pilgrim plans another journey under the multiple-entry visa.
Umrah Permit Is Also Mandatory
Saudi Umrah Visa Rules also require pilgrims to obtain an Umrah permit before each visit. The permit needs to be secured through the Nusuk app before travelling.
The dates on the Umrah permit must match the dates covered by the approved service package. Therefore, pilgrims need to complete both steps before planning each new Umrah journey.
A valid visa by itself is not enough. If a pilgrim does not have the required service package and Umrah permit for a new trip, the visa cannot simply be used for another Umrah visit.
What Pilgrims Should Remember
The new system allows greater flexibility for eligible pilgrims who want to perform Umrah more than once within a year. However, every visit comes with its own booking and permit requirements.
Pilgrims should therefore check their visa validity, book the required service package through the approved process and obtain the relevant Umrah permit before each journey.
The 365-day visa validity should also not be confused with the permitted duration of stay. Across all visits, the cumulative stay must remain within the applicable 90-day limit.
