The Indian government’s cyber security agency, CERT-In, has issued a high-severity warning for users of Apple devices.
According to the advisory released on March 26, 2026, several serious security flaws have been found in devices like iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
These flaws can be used by hackers to steal personal data or even take control of your device.
This increases the risk of cyberattacks for millions of users.
What Is the Risk?
CERT-In said these vulnerabilities exist in different parts of Apple’s software and operating systems.
Hackers can take advantage of these issues to:
Run harmful code on your device
Bypass built-in security systems
Access sensitive information
In some cases, this can also lead to data leaks, system crashes, or denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
Another concern is that multiple vulnerabilities (called CVEs) can be combined, making large-scale and more dangerous attacks possible.
Which Devices Are Most Affected?
The risk is higher for users who are running older software versions.
Affected platforms include:
Older versions of iOS and iPadOS
macOS Tahoe, Sequoia, and Sonoma
Safari browser
watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS
Older versions of Apple Xcode
This means a wide range of devices—from iPhones to advanced products like the Apple Vision Pro—could be at risk if not updated.
What Should You Do Now?
CERT-In has shared some simple steps to stay safe:
Update your device to the latest software immediately
Download apps only from the official App Store
Avoid clicking on unknown or suspicious links
Regularly back up your important data
Keeping your device updated is the easiest and most effective way to protect yourself from these threats.
