Asus Pad Set to launch in India after 11 Years

Asus has been launching several laptops in India, but it has stayed away from the tablet market for many years. Now, the company is making a comeback with the new Asus Pad, which is set to launch in India on August 6.

Although the price has not been announced yet, Asus has revealed many of the tablet’s key features through its Flipkart microsite.

The company last launched a tablet in India in 2015, making this its return to the segment after 11 years.

Display, Camera and Performance

The Asus Pad features a 12.2-inch 2.8K dual-layer OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3:2 aspect ratio, and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness.

It offers 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and comes with certifications for low flicker and low blue light emission.

The tablet has a 92% screen-to-body ratio, making it suitable for entertainment as well as creative work.

For photography and video calls, the tablet includes a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera with face unlock support.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor and comes with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM.

It runs on Android 16 and offers up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Users can also expand the storage up to 1TB using a microSD card.

The tablet packs a 9,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. According to the company, it can charge from 0% to 50% in around 30 minutes.

Audio, Connectivity and Other Features

The Asus Pad comes with a quad-speaker setup featuring Dolby Atmos 360-degree cinematic sound for an immersive audio experience.

It also supports the Asus Pen 2.0 and a compatible Bluetooth keyboard, allowing users to take notes, draw sketches, edit documents, and perform other creative tasks.

For connectivity, the tablet offers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It does not support a SIM card.

It also features a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 support and uses GlideX for seamless file sharing between Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices.

The Asus Pad weighs 523 grams and is 6.5mm thick, making it easy to carry while travelling, working, studying, or enjoying entertainment.

The tablet also comes with a protective folio case that doubles as a stand and supports four viewing modes.

Color and Storage Options

The Asus Pad will be available in a Pure White color option. It will come in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. Asus has not revealed the pricing yet, but the tablet will be available for purchase through Flipkart.
