Anthropic has made it easier for Indian users to subscribe to its AI chatbot, Claude AI.
The company now offers its paid plans in Indian rupees, so users no longer need to pay in US dollars or worry about currency conversion and foreign transaction charges.
Earlier, Indian customers had to make payments in dollars, which often increased the total cost because of bank conversion fees.
According to Anthropic, India is now Claude AI’s second-largest market after the US, which is why the company has introduced local pricing.
However, users still cannot pay through UPI. Payments are currently accepted only through credit/debit cards or app store billing.
Claude Pro Plan: Price and Features
The Claude Pro plan is priced at ₹2,000 per month when billed annually, which comes to ₹24,000 per year. Users who prefer monthly billing will have to pay ₹2,399 per month.
With the Pro plan, users get:
Access to the Claude Sonnet 5 model by default.
Support for advanced models like Opus and Fable 5.
Around 5 times higher usage limits than the free plan.
Research Mode for deeper information gathering.
Features such as Web Search, File Uploads, and Voice Mode.
Claude Max Plan: Built for Heavy Users
The Claude Max plan starts at ₹11,999 per month in India. It is designed for users who work with long documents, coding projects, research, or other AI-intensive tasks.
