The Government of India has asked citizens not to panic about cooking gas or fuel supplies.

Officials said there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel in the country and people should avoid unnecessary buying.

The statement came during a media briefing where senior officials explained that the government is closely monitoring the situation, especially in light of recent developments in West Asia.

Authorities said they are working with several ministries to ensure that energy supplies across India remain uninterrupted.

LPG Cylinders Can Be Booked Easily From Home

Officials also reminded consumers that there is no need to visit LPG distribution agencies to book a cylinder.

Customers can book LPG cylinders through several digital options provided by oil companies.

These include:

IVRS phone calls

SMS booking

WhatsApp booking

Mobile apps of oil marketing companies

People have been advised to use these platforms from home instead of visiting agencies, which can lead to crowding at distribution centres.

The government also urged consumers to book cylinders only as per their normal household needs and avoid placing extra orders out of fear.

According to officials, oil marketing companies maintain adequate LPG stocks at bottling plants and depots across the country.

Government Warns Against Panic Buying

The advisory was issued during the third inter-ministerial press briefing held at the National Media Centre.

During the briefing, officials again stressed that there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders and asked people not to rush to fuel stations or LPG agencies.

They also confirmed that petrol and diesel supplies remain stable, and citizens should not indulge in panic buying.

Steps Taken to Prevent Hoarding

Authorities said strict steps are also being taken to stop hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders.

Officials added that ground-level monitoring is already in place to ensure that supplies reach consumers without disruption.

At the same time, the government has requested media organisations to rely on official updates and avoid spreading rumours that could create unnecessary panic among the public.
