CERT-In Flags Serious Chrome Vulnerabilities, Update Today

The government’s cybersecurity team, CERT-In, has discovered a serious vulnerability in the browser.

What You Need to Know About the Vulnerability

CERT-In’s advisory, CIVN-2025-0330, identifies two high-severity vulnerabilities in Chrome, named CVE-2025-13223 and CVE-2025-13224.

These affect Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.

If left unpatched, hackers could remotely execute code on your system or interfere with ongoing services.

The problem is partly caused by type confusion, where code tries to access resources using incorrect data types, creating opportunities for attacks.

How to Protect Yourself

To stay safe, CERT-In recommends updating Chrome to version 142.0.7444.175 or 142.0.7444.176.

Steps to update:

Open Chrome and go to the Menu.

Tap Help and select About Google Chrome.

Verify and install any available updates.

Updating immediately will help you avoid potential cyber attacks and ensure safer browsing.
