The government has solved a major problem by launching a new Aadhaar app.

Now, you no longer need to carry or submit a photocopy of your Aadhaar card at hotels, airports, while getting a SIM card, or for other identity checks.

This app was launched on Tuesday to make things easier for the public.

With this new app, users can now verify their identity digitally, without submitting a physical Aadhaar copy.

Until now, identity verification often required a printed copy of the Aadhaar card.

Facial Recognition for Instant Verification

The new Aadhaar app uses face scanning technology to confirm your identity.

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced this on X (formerly Twitter), saying the app is designed to make Aadhaar verification faster, simpler, and safer.

The app gives users complete control over their personal data. With just one tap, users can choose what information to share.

Works Like UPI for Aadhaar

The app functions similarly to UPI apps. To verify your identity, you simply scan a QR code and then let your phone scan your face. There’s no need to carry your Aadhaar card everywhere anymore.

One of the biggest benefits is privacy. Users can decide how much information to share, giving them more control and better security for their data.

App Still in Beta Version

Currently, the app is in its beta version and will be released to the public soon. A demo video was shared by Ashwini Vaishnav on X, where a user scans a QR code

and verifies their identity using the phone’s camera. He confirmed in his post that physical Aadhaar cards or photocopies are no longer required.

Better Data Privacy and Security

Ever since Aadhaar was introduced, people have been concerned about data privacy. Recently, concerns increased when ChatGPT generated fake Aadhaar card photos, raising questions about how such data was accessed.

This new app addresses those concerns by allowing users to control what data they share. This step is expected to improve data security and reduce the risks of misuse.
