The Sahara Group has initiated a refund portal to return the money of numerous investors trapped in its cooperative ventures, such as Sahara India.
This new portal allows investors to reclaim their deposited funds, and it was officially launched by Union Home and Cooperative Minister, Amit Shah.
Within a mere four days of its introduction,
the portal witnessed an overwhelming response, with five lakh investors registering themselves.
If you are one of the investors facing the Sahara predicament, you can apply for a refund of your money through the CRCS-Sahara refund portal,
but certain essential documents will be required.
Required Documents for Refund Application
To proceed with the application on the Sahara Refund Portal, investors must provide essential documents, including:
- Membership number
- Deposit account number
- Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
- Deposit certificate
Furthermore, it is mandatory for investors to have their Aadhaar linked to the current mobile number and also to their bank account.
Failure to do so will hinder the filing of any refund claim.
Simple Application Process
By submitting all the necessary documents through the Sahara portal, applicants will receive an enrollment number,
along with an SMS confirmation on their registered mobile number.
The withdrawal process will be effortless, and within 45 days, the trapped funds of approximately four crore investors from four Sahara cooperative societies will be credited back to their bank accounts.
However, there is a cap of Rs 10,000 on the refunded amount.
During the initial phase, investors with up to Rs 10,000 investment will receive the exact amount, while those with an investment exceeding Rs 10,000 will be paid Rs 10,000.
User-Friendly Refund Procedure
Investors can personally register on the portal and initiate the refund process after successful verification.
The entire refund process will be completed within 45 days. Once the application is submitted, Sahara India’s investor documents will be examined by Sahara Group’s committees within 30 days,
and claimants will receive an SMS notification within 15 days of filing their claims online.

This refund portal is designed specifically for investors associated with Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited,
Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.
The astounding response from the investors indicates that approximately 10 crore individuals have invested in Sahara.
