Karamtara Engineering IPO listing gain reached about 26% as the company’s shares made a strong debut on the NSE and BSE on Thursday, September 17. The shares were listed at ₹320 against the issue price of ₹254 per share.
The listing price gave IPO investors a gain of ₹66 per share at the opening. The debut was also stronger than grey market expectations, where a gain of around 15–18% had been estimated.
Karamtara Engineering IPO Listing Gain
The IPO lot size was 59 shares. At the issue price of ₹254 per share, one lot required an investment of ₹14,986.
At the NSE listing price of ₹320, the value of 59 shares increased to about ₹18,880. This means investors could see a gain of around ₹3,894 per lot at the time of listing.
The calculation is based only on the listing price. The actual profit or loss will depend on the market price at the time of selling, along with brokerage and other applicable charges.
IPO Raised ₹675 Crore Through Fresh Issue
The total size of the Karamtara Engineering IPO was ₹875 crore. It included a fresh issue of ₹675 crore and an offer for sale worth ₹200 crore.
Under the offer for sale, promoters Tanveer Singh and Rajeev Singh sold part of their holdings. The company planned to use the fresh issue proceeds mainly for reducing debt and borrowing payments, along with general corporate purposes.
The company had also stated that stock market listing could help improve its brand recognition and expand its reach among customers.
IPO Received 62.63 Times Subscription
The IPO received strong demand from investors, with the issue subscribed 62.63 times, according to NSE data. Bids were received for around 1.59 billion shares against approximately 25.41 crore shares available in the issue.
The Qualified Institutional Buyers category was subscribed around 159.59 times. The Non-Institutional Investors category received 48.55 times subscription, while the retail portion was subscribed 13.26 times.
Before the public issue, the company also raised ₹262.50 crore from anchor investors.
These included HDFC Mutual Fund, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, Mirae Asset Mutual Fund, Nippon India Mutual Fund, SBI Life Insurance and HDFC Life Insurance.
Company Operates in Infrastructure and Renewable Energy
Karamtara Engineering operates in infrastructure and renewable energy products. Its products include transmission line towers, wind energy structures, structural steel profiles, solar structures, tracker components and fasteners.
The company sells its products in India as well as overseas markets. After the listing, investors will now track its business performance, financial results and overall market conditions.
