Alexa+ has been launched in India by Amazon as its AI-powered voice assistant. The new service is designed to offer more natural conversations, better context understanding and more task-based features than the older Alexa.
Alexa+ has entered India nearly eight years after Alexa was launched in the country. Currently, the AI assistant is available free to all users in India during its Early Access period.
Alexa+ Free During Early Access
Amazon has launched Alexa+ in India as an Early Access feature. Users can access the service without paying an additional subscription fee during this period.
Amazon has also confirmed that Prime members will not have to pay for Alexa+ after Early Access ends. This means Amazon Prime users will be able to use Alexa+ at no extra cost.
Alexa+ Offers More Natural Conversations
Alexa+ is designed to understand conversations and their context better. Users can ask different questions or give multiple commands in the same conversation, and the assistant can respond based on earlier information.
The AI assistant can also remember user preferences and important information to personalize future conversations. This can reduce the need for users to repeat the same details.
Hindi and Hinglish Support Available
Alexa+ supports Hindi and Hinglish in India at launch. Amazon has said that more languages will be added in the future.
This language support can make the assistant easier to use for people who prefer speaking in Hindi or mixing Hindi and English instead of using only English.
Alexa+ Can Control Smart Home Devices
Alexa+ can do more than answer questions. It can control compatible smart home devices and perform different tasks through supported services.
The AI assistant is also built into Amazon’s new Fire and Echo devices, allowing users to access its features through compatible devices.
Alexa+ Gets Amazon Now Integration
Amazon has integrated its quick-commerce platform Amazon Now with Alexa+ in India. According to Amazon, India is the first country where Alexa+ and Amazon Now have been integrated in this way.
Users can tell Alexa+ what they need during a conversation, and the assistant can add the requested products to the Amazon Now cart. However, Alexa+ will not place the order automatically. Users must give voice confirmation before the order is completed.
