Reliance Jio has launched a new prepaid recharge plan priced at ₹198, offering unlimited 5G data. This plan is the most affordable among Jio’s offerings, providing 2GB of data daily with a validity of 14 days.
It also includes unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day, along with access to JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud.
Comparison with Other Plans
Previously, Jio increased the prices of most of its plans on July 3, with the ₹155 plan rising to ₹189 and the ₹209 plan increasing to ₹249.
The new ₹198 plan now competes with the ₹189 plan, which was the only Jio plan under ₹200 before this.
For users considering multiple recharges, if the ₹198 plan is purchased twice in a month, the total cost would be ₹396, which is slightly higher than Jio’s ₹349 monthly plan that offers 2GB of data daily for 28 days. Recharging twice with the ₹198 plan costs ₹47 more compared to the ₹349 plan.
Recharge Options and Charges
The ₹198 plan can be recharged through the MyJio app or other prepaid recharge platforms.
Some platforms, like Google Pay, Paytm, and PhonePe, may charge an additional service fee of ₹1 to ₹3, while the MyJio app does not have any extra charges.
Best for Budget-Conscious Users
This new ₹198 plan is ideal for users who want affordable access to 5G data and are willing to recharge multiple times a month.
Additional Jio Plan Options
Jio recently also highlighted a ₹1029 prepaid plan that offers a validity of 84 days with 2GB of data daily, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS per day.
This plan includes access to Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition, which is a unique feature not available in many other Jio recharge plans.
