One of India’s most popular sedans, the Honda City, has returned with a fresh update. Honda has launched the second major facelift of the fifth-generation City in India with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 12 lakh.
The updated model is available in four variants — SV, V, ZX, and ZX+. While the engine remains the same, the company has added several modern features
and design changes to make the sedan look more premium and sporty. Honda has also introduced a new black color option, giving the car a bold road presence.
Sportier Exterior With New LED Design
The biggest change in the new Honda City can be seen at the front. The car now gets a full-width LED light strip that stretches across the front, giving it a modern appearance.
Honda has removed the chrome-heavy design from the previous model and replaced it with a cleaner body-colored finish. The slimmer LED headlights and redesigned bumpers further improve the sporty look of the sedan.
On the sides, the sedan now comes with new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear bumper has also been updated, making the overall design look sharper than before.
Bigger Touchscreen and More Premium Cabin
The cabin of the new Honda City has also received major upgrades. The company has added a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that now sits slightly above the dashboard for easier access.
Honda has wisely kept the physical buttons for AC controls and steering functions, making them convenient to use while driving.
The car now offers several premium features, including:
Ventilated front seats
360-degree camera
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Wireless phone charger
Sunroof
Ambient lighting
Powerful 8-speaker sound system
Safety Features Get Better
Honda has focused heavily on safety in this update. The new City comes with 6 airbags and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
These features help improve driver safety and make highway driving more comfortable and secure.
Engine and Mileage Remain Strong
The sedan continues with the same reliable 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 121bhp power. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-step CVT automatic transmission.
Honda is also offering the strong hybrid version for customers who want better fuel efficiency. According to the company, the hybrid model delivers an impressive mileage of 27.26 kmpl.
The company is also giving a 5-year warranty on hybrid components.
In India, the new Honda City will compete with cars like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
