Every month, people use different apps to pay electricity, water, gas and other important bills. Now, WhatsApp is making this process easier.
The company has launched its Bill Payments feature in India, which allows users to view, manage and pay different types of bills directly through WhatsApp.
Users will no longer need to switch between different apps to pay their bills. The feature is being gradually rolled out in India and will be available for Android and iOS users in the coming weeks.

What Is WhatsApp’s New Bill Payments Feature?
WhatsApp’s new Bill Payments feature works through the Bharat Connect (BBPS) network. It gives users access to 22,722 billers across 30 different categories.
These categories include electricity, water, gas, FASTag, insurance, credit cards and loan repayments.
According to WhatsApp, the new feature expands the app’s existing payment services. Earlier, WhatsApp already offered mobile recharge and other transaction-related services.
How to Pay Bills Through WhatsApp
To pay a bill through WhatsApp, first open the app and tap the Rupee icon at the top of the home screen. Next, select the bill category and choose the required biller.
After this, enter the required customer or account details and confirm them. WhatsApp will then automatically show the bill amount.
Check the bill amount and other details carefully. Once everything is correct, you can make the payment using UPI, debit card or credit card.
Manage Multiple Bills in One Place
WhatsApp’s new feature also comes with a Household Bills Summary. It can show billers that you have paid previously, allowing you to access them with a single tap the next time you need to make a payment.
Users can also manage multiple accounts under a single biller. Popular bill categories will appear directly on the Payments Home screen. The See All option will allow users to explore more than 20 bill categories.
When Will Users Get This Feature?
WhatsApp has not made the Bill Payments feature available to everyone at the same time. The company is gradually rolling it out across India.
The feature will be available to more users on Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks.
