JSW MG Motor India has launched the new Hector Tomahawk EV in the country. The electric SUV starts at ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under the company’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan.
With this plan, buyers pay ₹4.9 per kilometre as battery rental.
Without the BaaS option, the Hector Tomahawk EV is priced between ₹19.49 lakh and ₹23.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The SUV is available in both 5-seater and 7-seater versions. Bookings are now open, while deliveries will begin in September.
Bold Design with Spacious Cabin
The Hector Tomahawk EV is 4,745mm long, 1,850mm wide, and 1,770mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,810mm and 230mm ground clearance. MG says it is one of the longest and tallest SUVs in its segment.
The 5-seater model offers 610 litres of boot space. The 7-seater version provides 192 litres with all seats in use, which expands to 528 litres after folding the third row.
In terms of design, the SUV gets LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, an illuminated MG logo, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, black body cladding, wraparound LED tail lamps, and a powered tailgate, giving it a modern SUV look.
Premium Features Inside
The cabin comes with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display.
Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, gesture controls, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 256-colour ambient lighting, a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, powered tailgate, rear sunshades, and a memory function for the driver’s seat.
MG has also added its i-SMART connected system with more than 30 Hinglish voice commands.
The SUV also offers special cabin modes such as Nap, Camp, Energise, Pro Pet, Valet, and Quiet for different driving situations.
Battery, Range and Charging
The Hector Tomahawk EV is powered by a 69.2kWh battery pack paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It produces 204hp of power and 310Nm of torque.
According to MG, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.2 seconds and offers a MIDC-certified driving range of 517km on a full charge.
For charging, it supports 90kW DC fast charging through a CCS2 port. Using a 90kW charger, the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in about 35 minutes.
A 7.4kW AC charger takes around 12.5 hours to charge the battery from 10% to 100%. MG also includes a portable charger that works with a standard 15A household socket.
