Kia, the renowned Korean automaker, has delivered surprising news to its Indian customers contemplating the purchase of a new car.
The company has decided to implement a price increase for its two top-selling models, Kia Seltos and Kia Carens.
These vehicles have consistently ranked as the company’s best-sellers, and Kia has chosen to enact a 2 percent price hike on both models.
As a result, potential buyers looking at these cars will need to budget accordingly from October onwards.
Price adjustment Effective October 1
The South Korean automobile giant, Kia India, has officially announced a 2 percent price increase for its Seltos and Carens models, set to take effect from October 1.
This decision was communicated by a senior company official on Thursday.
Notably, the price of Kia’s entry-level model, the Sonet, will remain unaffected by this adjustment.
Impact on Seltos and Carens Pricing
Hardeep S Brar, National Head (Sales and Marketing) at Kia India, shared insights into the impending price changes.
He confirmed, “We are going to increase the prices of Seltos and Carens by about two percent from October 1.”
As a result, starting in October, the Kia Seltos will bear an additional cost of Rs 21,800, while the Kia Carens will see a price increase of Rs 20,900. These adjustments are set to take effect on October 1.
Prior Price Adjustments
Hardeep S Brar also noted that in April, the company had previously implemented a 1 percent price increase, aligning its vehicles with Real Driving Emissions (RDE) standards. Kia India’s product lineup also includes the electric model EV6, available in the Indian market.
