If you use an IndusInd Bank credit card, there is an important update you should know.

Starting June 15, the bank has introduced several changes to its credit card rules that could increase your overall costs.

From higher late payment charges to additional fees on fuel purchases, travel bookings, and international shopping, many cardholders may end up paying more than before.

Here’s a look at the five major changes and how they could affect your wallet.

Paying Only the Minimum Due Can Cost You More

Many credit card users prefer paying only the minimum amount due instead of clearing the entire bill.

While this may seem convenient, it can now become much more expensive.

Under the revised rules, interest will continue to be charged on the outstanding balance if the full bill is not paid.

In addition, you will lose the interest-free period on future transactions.

The interest-free benefit will only be restored after you pay the full outstanding amount on time for two consecutive billing cycles.

Late Payment Charges Have Increased

Missing your credit card payment due date will now be more costly.

IndusInd Bank has increased late payment fees for several outstanding balance ranges. For example:

Outstanding balance between ₹501 and ₹1,000: Fee increased from ₹350 to ₹500

Outstanding balance between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000: Fee increased from ₹550 to ₹750

However, some premium credit cards, including Club Vistara Explorer, Pioneer Private, and Pioneer Heritage, are exempt from these revised charges.

Fuel Purchases Above ₹30,000 Will Attract Extra Charges

Cardholders who spend heavily on petrol or diesel should also take note.

Earlier, additional charges applied only when monthly fuel spending crossed ₹50,000.

The bank has now reduced this threshold to ₹30,000.

This means that if your monthly fuel expenses exceed ₹30,000, you will have to pay an extra 1% fee along with applicable GST.

Travel and Transport Payments Become Costlier

People who regularly use their credit cards for transportation expenses may also see higher charges.

If your monthly spending on services such as:

Ola and Uber rides

Bus ticket bookings

Train ticket bookings

Toll payments

crosses ₹40,000, an additional charge of 1% plus GST will be applicable.

International Shopping Will Now Cost More

There is another important change for people who frequently shop on international websites.

When an overseas merchant offers payment directly in Indian Rupees through Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), IndusInd Bank will now charge a higher fee.

The DCC charge has been increased from 1% to 2% (plus GST) for standard credit cards and Tiger Cards.

As a result, purchases from international websites and foreign merchants could become more expensive than before.

What Cardholders Should Do

With these new rules now in effect, IndusInd Bank credit card users should review their spending habits carefully.

Paying the full bill on time, keeping fuel and travel expenses within limits, and checking international payment options can help avoid unnecessary charges.

If you regularly use your credit card for everyday expenses, understanding these changes could help you save money and avoid surprises on your next statement.
