Coal India Announces ₹5.25 Final Dividend

Coal India shareholders have an important date to remember.

The company’s board has approved a final dividend of Rs 5.25 per share for FY26.

The dividend was approved at the company’s Annual General Meeting held on August 31.

The record date has been fixed as September 4.

This means investors who want to qualify for the dividend must hold the company’s shares as per the eligibility records on the record date.

Coal India Dividend: What Is the Record Date?

Coal India will check its shareholder records on September 4 to identify investors eligible for the final dividend.

However, the Rs 5.25 dividend is still subject to shareholder approval.

If approved, Coal India’s total dividend payout for FY26 will reach Rs 26.50 per share, equal to 265% of the share’s face value.

The company has already paid three interim dividends during FY26:

Rs 5.50 per share

Rs 10.25 per share

Rs 5.50 per share

The proposed final dividend of Rs 5.25 would take the total payout to Rs 26.50 per share.

When Will Coal India Shareholders Get the Dividend?

Under the Companies Act, 2013, companies are required to pay declared dividends within 30 days of declaration.

Therefore, eligible Coal India shareholders can expect the final dividend payout by the first week of October, assuming the required approval is received.

Coal India Q1 FY27 Results

Coal India also reported its financial performance for the April-June quarter.

The company’s net profit rose 0.7% year-on-year to Rs 8,849 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 8,787 crore in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from operations increased more strongly.

It rose 7.7% year-on-year to Rs 46,254 crore, compared with Rs 42,919 crore in the year-ago period.

Coal India Share Price Update

Coal India shares also attracted attention in Wednesday’s trading session.

The stock was trading around 4% higher during intraday trading.

However, over the past six months, Coal India shares have remained largely flat on the stock exchanges.

With a Rs 5.25 final dividend now in focus, investors will be watching both the record date and the stock’s next move closely.
