Digital payments in India are growing quickly, and ICICI Bank has introduced a new feature to make them even easier.

Now, users can complete UPI payments without entering a PIN every time. Instead, they can use fingerprint or Face ID for authentication through the iMobile app.

This facility is available for transactions up to ₹5,000. For payments above this limit, users will still need to enter their UPI PIN as usual.

Faster and More Secure Payments

This new system is designed to make payments both faster and safer. In crowded places, entering a PIN can sometimes lead to security risks like someone watching your screen or guessing your password.

With biometric authentication, such risks are reduced. A simple fingerprint scan or face recognition is enough to complete the payment, making the process smooth and more secure.

Where You Can Use This Feature

The biometric UPI feature can be used for many types of transactions. It works for sending money, scanning QR codes at shops, online payments, and merchant transactions.

It is available for both Android and iPhone users. Android users can use fingerprint verification, while iPhone users can use Face ID. The only requirement is to have the latest version of the iMobile app installed.

How to Activate Biometric UPI Payments

Activating this feature is simple and takes only a few steps:

First, log in to the iMobile app.
Then go to the UPI settings section.
Select your bank account and enable the “Use biometric for payments” option.
After entering your UPI PIN for verification, the feature will be activated.

A Step Towards Smarter Digital Payments

UPI is already the most popular payment system in India. With biometric authentication, ICICI Bank is making it even more convenient and secure.

This update not only saves time but also improves trust in digital payments. In the future, such technologies are expected to make online transactions even simpler and safer for everyone.
