Easier Train Ticket Booking with New Voice Payment Feature

Booking train tickets is now simpler thanks to a new service launched by IRCTC, NPCI, and CoRover at the Global Fintech Fest 2024.

The Conversational Voice Payments service for UPI lets Indian Railways customers pay for their train tickets using their voice or by typing their UPI ID or mobile number during a call.

This service is integrated with AskDISHA, the AI virtual assistant for Indian Railways. It allows users to book tickets and make payments just by speaking.

How the New Feature Works

Here’s how the new voice payment system operates:

Payment Request: When you provide your mobile number, the system automatically retrieves your UPI ID and starts the payment request through your default UPI app.

Flexibility: You can update your mobile number or UPI ID within the transaction time limit to ensure a smooth payment process.

This feature is the first conversational voice payment system for UPI and helps overcome language barriers, making transactions faster and more accessible.

It uses a payment gateway’s API and CoRover’s voice-enabled BharatGPT for a secure and smooth transaction process.

The system supports multiple languages, including Hindi and Gujarati.

Booking and Payment Made Easy

With this new feature, users can book tickets and make payments using just their voice. This makes the ticket booking process faster and more convenient.

Delhi Metro Card Recharge via WhatsApp

In addition to train tickets, payment options are expanding across different services. The Delhi Metro has introduced a new way to recharge Metro Cards through WhatsApp.

Commuters in the Delhi NCR region can now recharge their Metro Cards by sending ‘Hi’ to a specific number or scanning a QR code, with services available in both English and Hindi.
