Planning to buy a new Tata car before the festive season? You may have to spend more. After Maruti Suzuki

and Hyundai, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has also announced a price hike across its passenger vehicle range. The revised prices will come into effect from September 1, 2026.

The price increase will apply to both petrol, diesel and electric vehicles (EVs).

Price Hike of Up to ₹25,000

Tata Motors said the prices of its cars and SUVs will increase by up to ₹25,000. However, the hike will not be the same for every model or variant.

The final increase will depend on the specific vehicle and its variant.

According to the company, the decision has been taken due to rising input costs and continued inflationary pressure.

EVs Will Also Become More Expensive

The latest price hike will cover Tata Motors’ entire passenger vehicle lineup, including both internal combustion engine (ICE) models and electric vehicles.

The company said it is absorbing a large part of the increased production costs. However, a portion of those costs will be passed on to customers through higher vehicle prices.

Tata Motors also said it will continue to focus on delivering value to customers despite the increase.

Second Price Hike in Two Months

This is the second price hike announced by Tata Motors in a short period. The company had already increased vehicle prices on July 1, 2026, and now another revision will take effect from September 1.

Customers planning to buy a new Tata vehicle may see an impact on their budget because of the latest increase.

Other Carmakers Have Also Raised Prices

Tata Motors is not the only company increasing prices. Hyundai has already announced a 1% price hike for its vehicles from September, while Maruti Suzuki raised prices from August 1.

Automakers say higher raw material costs, increasing operational expenses and inflationary pressures are the main reasons behind the latest price revisions.
