Pakistan Grants Visas to 737 Indian Sikh Pilgrims

There is good news for Indian Sikh devotees planning to visit Pakistan for the martyrdom anniversary of the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

The Pakistan High Commission has issued visas to 737 Indian pilgrims for the annual religious event.

The pilgrimage and celebrations will take place from June 10 to June 19, 2026.

Pilgrims to Visit Major Sikh Holy Sites

The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi announced the visa approval on June 8.

During their visit, pilgrims will get the opportunity to pay their respects at several important Sikh religious sites in Pakistan.

These include Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, along with other historic shrines.

The annual event is organized to mark the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, one of the most respected figures in Sikh history.

Pakistan Extends Best Wishes to Pilgrims

Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to India, Saad Ahmad Warraich, wished all pilgrims a safe and successful journey.

According to the official statement, the visa issuance is part of Pakistan’s commitment to implementing the 1974 bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines.

The agreement allows pilgrims from both countries to visit important religious sites across the border.

SGPC Receives Visas for 541 Sikh Pilgrims

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has received visas for 541 Sikh pilgrims who will travel to Pakistan to participate in the commemorative events.

Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Secretary of the SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee, said that the organization had submitted the passports of 561 pilgrims to the Pakistani Embassy in New Delhi.

The approved pilgrims will begin their journey on June 10. The group is scheduled to leave from the SGPC headquarters on Wednesday.

Mathrewal also informed that pilgrims whose visas have been approved should collect their passports from the SGPC office during office hours on June 9.
