In a major step towards inclusive banking, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has launched the PNB Divyang Loan scheme. The new loan program is designed to help persons with disabilities access affordable home and vehicle loans.

The scheme has been introduced in partnership with National Disability Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), which will provide 100% refinance support.

The initiative aims to make housing and mobility more accessible while promoting financial independence.

Home Loans Up to ₹50 Lakh

Under the PNB Divyang Loan scheme, eligible applicants can get home loans of up to ₹50 lakh. The loan can be used for:

Buying a house

Constructing a new home

Renovating an existing property

Composite housing projects

The bank says the scheme is intended to help more people with disabilities achieve their dream of owning a home.

Affordable Vehicle Loans to Improve Mobility

The scheme also offers concessional vehicle loans to support personal mobility and employment opportunities.

Eligible customers can avail:

Up to ₹1.50 lakh for a two-wheeler

Up to ₹50 lakh for a modified four-wheeler

Customers who take both a home loan and a vehicle loan can avail a combined maximum limit of ₹50 lakh.

Low Interest Rates and Easy Eligibility

One of the key highlights of the scheme is its affordable pricing. Interest rates start from 5% per annum, and the rate remains the same regardless of the borrower’s credit score (CIC score).

To qualify for the scheme, applicants must:

Be Indian citizens

Be at least 21 years old

Have 40% or more disability

Possess a valid UDID card or UDID enrolment registration

The bank has also made the application process easier by offering access through PNB branches across India.

PNB Focuses on Inclusive Banking

Speaking about the launch, Subodh Kumar, General Manager of PNB’s Retail Asset Business Division, said the bank believes financial inclusion should provide meaningful access, dignity, and empowerment to every section of society.

According to PNB, the scheme aims to make formal credit more affordable and accessible for people who may have had limited access to such financial services in the past.

The initiative also supports the Government of India’s goal of promoting inclusive development and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities.
