Incidents of AI-assisted scams have increased recently. Because of this, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team has issued a warning.

The agency says cybercrimes are becoming more complex with the help of AI.

Attackers can now find system weaknesses much faster and launch large-scale attacks on both users and organizations. CERT-In has urged individuals as well as businesses to stay alert and cautious.

AI Making Attacks Faster and More Dangerous

According to CERT-In, AI systems can quickly identify software vulnerabilities. Attackers use this to target APIs, cloud services, and enterprise systems in order to steal login credentials.

The risk of phishing and impersonation scams has also increased. Scammers are now using emails, messages, voice calls,

and even video calls in different languages to trick people into sharing sensitive information by pretending to be trustworthy sources.

Cybercrime No Longer Needs High Skills

The warning also highlights that AI has made cybercrime easier. Even attackers with low technical skills can now carry out serious attacks.

This has increased risks such as unauthorized system access, service disruptions, data breaches, and financial fraud.

Advice for Businesses

CERT-In has advised companies to stay highly alert and adopt multiple security measures. Businesses should regularly monitor their systems, logs, and network activity.

They should also disable unnecessary services, ports, and protocols.

For MSMEs, the agency recommends simple and cost-effective steps like enabling automatic system updates and using multi-factor authentication.

Advice for Common Users

The agency also warned that personal devices and accounts are increasingly being targeted. To stay safe, users should keep their phone software updated.

They should use strong and unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication wherever possible.
