Apple has quietly introduced a major update for iPhone users in India. Apple Maps now supports the Transit feature, making it easier to travel using public transport.

Although Apple has not officially announced the rollout, the feature has started appearing for users, according to Gadgets 360.

With this update, users can plan journeys using buses and trains directly from Apple Maps.

Plan Your Journey with Live Transit Information

The new Transit feature shows different public transport routes to your destination.

Users can check bus and train arrival and departure times, making it easier to choose the best route.

In some cities, Apple Maps may also display fare details, helping users estimate travel costs before starting their journey.

One of the biggest benefits is real-time updates. Supported services can show the live location of buses and trains, along with delays or service disruptions.

The app can also alert you when your stop is approaching, reducing the chances of missing your station or bus stop.

Transit Nearby Makes Daily Travel Easier

Apple Maps also includes a Transit Nearby option. This feature shows nearby bus and train services along with their departure times.

Users can view major transit lines on the map, plan trips around specific departure times, and even pin frequently used bus or train routes for quicker access. This can make daily commuting much more convenient.

Transit Payments May Come Later

In some countries, Apple Maps also supports transit payments through Apple Pay, Apple Wallet, or transport operator apps.

However, Apple has not confirmed which Indian cities or transport networks will support these payment features.

Reports also suggest that Apple Pay could launch in India in the future, but there is no official timeline yet.
