Microsoft Windows has finally solved a common problem that many users have faced.
Earlier, computers would suddenly start installing updates and restart automatically, even during important work.
Now, the company has made changes to Windows Update to give users more control over when updates happen.
New Pause Feature for Updates
With the new update, users can now delay Windows updates whenever they want. A new Pause option lets you select a date on a calendar and stop updates for that period.
You can pause updates for up to 35 days at a time.
You Can Extend the Pause Period
Once the 35 days are over, you can pause updates again and extend the delay. This means you can postpone updates for even longer if needed.
However, if you forget to pause again, the system will automatically start installing updates.
No More Forced Update Restart Options
Earlier, users had another problem. When an update was available, the Power Options only showed “Update and Restart” or “Update and Shut Down.”
This often disturbed users while they were working on something important.
Normal Restart and Shutdown Options Return
This issue has now been fixed. You will now see the regular Restart and Shut Down options again.
So, if you don’t want to install updates immediately, you can restart or shut down your system without updating.
Testing and Additional Improvements
These new features are currently being tested in the Dev and Experimental channels of the Windows Insider Program.
Users will also have the option to skip updates while setting up a new computer.
In addition, driver updates will now be shown more clearly, so users can easily understand what hardware is being updated, such as display, audio, or battery.
More Control for Users
With all these changes, it is clear that Windows is giving more control to users. Updates will no longer interrupt your work, and you can decide when your system should update.
