Rural Customers Get Relief as LPG Home Delivery Resumes

There is good news for people living in rural areas. LPG distributors have restarted home delivery services in villages.

Earlier, after the war started in early March, many villagers had to visit distributors multiple times to get a gas cylinder. This caused inconvenience and delays. Now, the situation has improved, bringing relief to customers.

How to Get LPG Cylinder at Home

To receive an LPG cylinder at your doorstep, you need to follow a simple process.

First, book the cylinder using your registered mobile number. After booking, you will receive an OTP on your phone. This OTP will be required at the time of delivery.

According to the central government, around 99% of LPG bookings are now OTP-based. This system helps ensure safe and verified delivery.

Government Assures No Shortage

The Union Petroleum Ministry has clarified that there is no shortage of LPG in the country.

In an official statement released on Monday, the government said that all distributors have normal supply levels. This has helped ease concerns among consumers.

LPG Supply Improving Gradually

India’s LPG supply was affected due to disruptions caused by the war. The country depends on Gulf nations for nearly 80 to 85% of its LPG needs.

However, the situation is now improving. On April 14, another LPG tanker arrived at Kandla port in Gujarat. Many stranded shipments are also being brought back gradually, helping stabilize supply.

Will LPG Prices Increase?

There have been some recent changes in LPG prices.

On April 1, the price of commercial gas cylinders was increased. However, domestic LPG cylinder prices remained unchanged at that time.

In March, domestic cylinder prices had already seen a hike. Additionally, the price of a 5 kg FTL cylinder was increased by ₹51.

Rules for Buying 5 Kg Cylinder

There is a simple rule for buying a 5 kg LPG cylinder.

Customers do not need to provide address proof. Only a valid ID is required to purchase it from a distributor.

Government Taking Action Against Black Marketing

To prevent black marketing, the government has started strict monitoring.

Regular raids are being conducted to stop illegal storage and sale of LPG cylinders. These steps aim to ensure fair distribution and availability for all customers.
