Choice Mutual Funds has launched a new fund called the Choice Nifty 50 Index Fund. This new fund offer (NFO) is designed for investors who want to invest in large, well-known companies.

It gives an opportunity to invest in the top 50 companies in India at a low cost, all through a single investment. The investment window for this fund is open until April 2, 2026.

What is Choice Nifty 50 Index Fund?

This is an open-ended index fund that tracks the Nifty 50, which is the benchmark index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The fund invests in the same 50 companies that are part of the Nifty 50 index, and in the same proportion.

It follows a passive investment strategy. This means the fund manager does not actively choose stocks but simply copies the index. Because of this, the fund remains simple and transparent.

NFO Details

Opening Date: March 19, 2026

Closing Date: April 2, 2026

Allotment Date: April 9, 2026

Minimum Investment: ₹1,000 (lump sum) and ₹500 (SIP)

Exit Load: Zero

Fund Manager: Rochan Patnaik

Why Choose Index Funds?

The main goal of this fund is to offer a simple and transparent investment option. Compared to actively managed funds, index funds usually have much lower costs.

Since it tracks the Nifty 50, it gives exposure to strong and well-established companies like Reliance, HDFC Bank, and TCS. These companies are often called blue-chip companies and can add stability to your investment portfolio.

Risk and Return

This is an equity fund, so it falls under the “Very High Risk” category as per SEBI’s Risk-O-Meter. However, equity investments have historically helped in wealth creation over the long term.

The fund tracks the Nifty 50 Total Returns Index (TRI), which means it considers both stock price growth and dividends.

Who Should Invest?

New Investors: Those who are new to the stock market and want a simple option

Cost-Conscious Investors: Those looking for low-cost investment options
