Zomato Introduces Advance Order Scheduling: Available Now in Select Cities

Food delivery app Zomato has unveiled a new feature allowing customers to schedule their orders up to two days in advance.

This means users can now plan their food deliveries for a specific time and place well ahead of time.

Initial Rollout in Major Cities

The new scheduling feature is currently available at approximately 13,000 outlets in select cities, including Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Jaipur.

However, this service is limited to orders exceeding 1,000 INR. The feature is expected to expand to more cities and restaurants in the near future.

Closure of Zomato Legends

This announcement comes as Zomato also revealed the closure of its intercity food delivery service, Zomato Legends.

CEO Deepinder Goyal stated that despite two years of effort, Zomato Legends did not meet market expectations and will be shut down immediately.

Why These Cities?

According to Goyal, the feature is initially available in these cities due to the consistency and availability of food stock at the partnered restaurants.

The company plans to extend this service to additional locations and remove the order value limit in the future.

Positive Feedback from Users

The new advance order scheduling feature has been well-received on social media.

Users have expressed their appreciation, with some commenting on how long they had wanted such a feature and questioning why it wasn’t available earlier.
