YouTube has introduced a new feature called Hype to support small creators.
This feature was first announced at the “Made on YouTube” event last year and has now been rolled out in 39 countries, including India, Japan, the USA, the UK, and Indonesia.
With this update, a new Hype button will appear next to the Like button under videos.
However, the feature will only be available for creators who have less than 5 lakh (500,000) subscribers.
How the Hype Feature Works
Viewers can hype up to 3 videos per week.
Each hype gives points to the video, which helps it move up the leaderboard.
Viewers who hype videos will get a Hype Star badge.
Videos that receive hype will show a Hyped badge.
Users can also apply a filter to watch only hyped videos.
This system is designed to give more visibility to small creators and help them grow their audience.
YouTube’s Future Plans with Hype
YouTube also sees this feature as a way to increase revenue. In the future, it may introduce an Extra Hype plan, where creators can pay to boost their videos further.
Additionally, YouTube is considering creating separate hype leaderboards for categories like gaming and style.
Overall, the Hype feature is meant to give equal opportunities to smaller creators.
If more viewers hype their content, these creators will gain more traction and reach a larger audience on YouTube.
