Smartphone brand Xiaomi has announced that it will stop software support for many of its older smartphones in 2026.

As per the updated timeline, 14 smartphones from the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco brands will be moved to the EoL (End of Life) category this year.

Once a phone reaches EoL, it will no longer receive Android updates, new HyperOS versions, or monthly security patches.

Popular and Former Flagship Models Also Affected

The list does not include only very old phones. Some popular mid-range and former flagship models are also part of it.

Notably, the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro are among the most important devices on this list. Both smartphones are expected to receive HyperOS 3 based on Android 15, which will be their final major update.

After that, no software updates will be provided for the Poco F5 after May 9, 2026.

Xiaomi Flagship Phones Reaching End of Support

Several older Xiaomi flagship smartphones are also losing support:

Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will receive their last update in March 2026

Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro will continue getting updates until October 13, 2026

Xiaomi 12 Lite will reach end of software support on July 1, 2026

Redmi and Poco Budget and Mid-Range Phones on the List

Many Redmi budget and mid-range smartphones are also affected, including:

Redmi Note 12 Pro

Redmi Note 12 5G

Redmi 12C

Redmi 13C

Redmi A2

Redmi A2+

In addition, Poco X-series models are also impacted. Software support for the Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro 5G will end in February 2026.

What Does End of Software Support Mean?

When a phone reaches end of software support, it does not stop working immediately. Basic functions like calling, messaging, and app usage will continue normally.

However, the main concern is security. Without future updates, new security threats and vulnerabilities will not be fixed, which can increase the risk to personal data over time.

Should You Upgrade?

If your Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco smartphone is included in this list, upgrading to a new smartphone before support ends can be a safer choice, especially to ensure better security and long-term software support.
