WWDC 2025: 8 Big Announcements for iPhone, MacBook & Apple Watch Users!

Apple’s WWDC 2025 keynote may not have brought any groundbreaking surprises, but it clearly showed how Apple plans to slowly and carefully add artificial intelligence (AI) across its ecosystem of over 2 billion devices.

From live translation during calls to a unified OS, Apple is playing the long game.

 Real-Time Translation on All Devices

Apple is introducing live language translation for:

So whether you’re chatting with a friend overseas or attending a global business call, your Apple device can now act as a real-time translator.

This feature directly challenges the AI tools found in Google’s Pixel Buds and Samsung’s Galaxy AI.

Smarter Call and Message Filtering

Apple is boosting security from spam and fraud with new features:

Call Screening: Unknown calls will be auto-answered by AI, which will collect the caller’s name and reason, then show it to you before you pick up.

Message Filtering: Texts from unknown numbers will go into a separate folder.

Hold Assist: The phone will wait on hold during service calls, just like Google Pixel’s hold feature.

Group chats get new tools too — like custom backgrounds and polls.

Apple Intelligence: Everyday AI Integration

Apple is not launching a huge AI app. Instead, it’s adding useful AI tools to apps you already use:

Visual Search: Tap on an image or object, and AI will search for it online.

Apple Maps: It remembers your favorite stops, like a daily coffee shop.

Workout Buddy (Apple Watch): Gives personalized fitness feedback based on your health data.

Third-Party App Support: Apps like Kahoot and AllTrails can now use Apple’s AI tools.

There’s still no release for the AI-powered Siri, with Apple saying it needs more time to reach its quality goals.

Siri Still Missing

One major disappointment was the lack of updates on Siri. Many expected a big reveal, but Apple stayed silent.

The company confirmed that a new Siri is in the works — but gave no timeline or demo, leaving many developers and users frustrated.

New Look: iOS 26 & “Liquid Glass” UI

Apple is redesigning its software with a fresh, glossy look:

A new visual style called Liquid Glass, inspired by Vision Pro’s design.

This is the biggest UI update since iOS 7.

Apple is also switching to unified OS names: all devices will now run OS 26, instead of separate names like iOS 18 or macOS 15.

Productivity Boost for Mac & iPad

Apple is making it easier to work across its devices:

On Mac:

Spotlight AI can now do more — like send emails, create reminders, or open files, right from the home screen.

On iPad:

Better window resizing and memory, making it work more like a laptop.

These upgrades help narrow the difference between MacBooks and iPads.

Is Apple Lagging in AI?

Many of the features Apple announced already exist on Android or in Google’s ecosystem. So, some people think Apple is behind.

However, Apple has one major strength: huge user adoption. Even if its features come later, they roll out to millions instantly — giving its AI tools a big advantage once fully developed.

Ecosystem Unity: All Devices, One Experience

One major theme from WWDC 2025 is seamless integration across all Apple devices:

A single OS across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch

A shared design style

AI tools that work smoothly across devices

As analyst Dipanjan Chatterjee said, “Apple is finally building bridges between its devices and apps.”
