Microsoft has announced that it will stop official support for Windows 10 after October 2025.
This means that after this date, Windows 10 will no longer get security updates, technical support, or software upgrades.
Your computer will still work as before, but it won’t be safe because it won’t receive the latest security fixes.
If you are not ready to switch to Windows 11 or if your PC is old, Microsoft offers a service called Extended Security Updates (ESU).
For about Rs 2500 (30 dollars) per year, this service provides only important security updates. It does not include new features or tech support.
You can also get this service using Microsoft Rewards points—up to 1000 points. This can be helpful for users who want to keep using Windows 10.
Backing Up Data and Staying Safe Without Extra Cost
Microsoft also offers a OneDrive backup option. The free version gives you 5GB of cloud storage to save important files, but this space can fill up quickly. If you need more, you can pay Rs 1600 per year for 100GB of storage.
If you don’t want to spend extra money, here are some simple tips to keep Windows 10 safe:
Use a good antivirus program and keep it updated regularly.
Keep all your internet-related apps, like browsers, email, and shopping apps, updated.
Limit your internet use and avoid unknown websites.
Back up your personal and financial data on the cloud or an external drive.
Finally, the safest and most future-ready choice is to upgrade to Windows 11. It has new features, better security, and will receive long-term support.
