Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp frequently introduces new features to enhance user convenience. The company is now preparing to roll out a significant new feature: an in-app dialer.
This feature will allow users to make direct calls without needing to save the number in their address book. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing the dialer in the Android 2.24.13.17 beta build.
Initially, it will be available to beta testers and will be rolled out to all WhatsApp users in the coming weeks after successful testing.

WhatsApp, used by approximately 2.4 billion smartphone users worldwide, continuously updates its features to improve user safety, privacy, and overall experience.
The new in-app dialer will change the calling experience by eliminating the need to save contact numbers for making calls.
How the In-App Dialer Works
With the new feature, users can call someone directly from the dial pad without saving the number. WhatsApp will introduce a floating number pad, similar to the standard phone dial pad.
By entering the number, users can check if the other person uses WhatsApp. If the intended recipient is not a WhatsApp user, the call cannot be completed.

Additionally, users will have the option to save the number through this feature if desired.
Recent Updates to WhatsApp
In other updates, WhatsApp has redesigned the status tab for Android users. Previously round, the status tab is now square-shaped.
The update also includes a status preview feature, enhancing the user experience.
